Becoming a Member
Membership Process

1. Submit an Application – Complete the application form and provide supporting documents.
2. Meet Eligibility Requirements – Applicants must demonstrate professional experience, an established reputation, or qualify through a reciprocal agreement.
3. Provide a Valid Business License – A current entertainment industry business license is required.
4. Approval & Welcome – Once reviewed and approved, new members gain immediate access to UABU benefits.

Eligibility Criteria
- Completion of at least six (6) professional engagements as a performer (excluding extra/background roles).
- A recognized professional reputation in the entertainment industry.
- Qualification through a reciprocal agreement with a recognized organization
- A valid business license in the entertainment industry.
- Must be a Bahamian citizen, permanent resident, or foreign national working under a reciprocal agreement

Foreign Artist Performance Application Guide
If you’re a local promoter looking to bring a foreign artist to perform in The Bahamas, follow
these steps to ensure your application is processed smoothly.
Step 1: Understand Your Responsibilities
- As a local promoter, you are responsible for submitting the application on behalf of the foreign artist. It is strongly advised to secure approval for the artist’s entry into the country before promoting the event to avoid any issues
Step 2: Complete the Application Form
- Download and complete the Foreign Artist Performance Application Form, which includes sections for both the artist’s information and event details.
Step 3: Submit Processing fees
- In addition to the completed application form, submit:
- Proof of payment for processing levies (5% of contract value for both foreign and Bahamian artists)
- Note: Levies are non-refundable, and applications will not be processed without proof of payment.
Step 4: Wait for Approval
- Once your application is reviewed, you will receive a support letter if the application is approved. You can begin advertising for the event only after receiving confirmation.
Things to Remember:
- Only licensed local promoters can apply on behalf of foreign artists.
- Submit your application at least 30 days before the event to avoid delays.
- Ensure all required documents are attached to prevent rejection.
